with 25 mans starting we need a loot system other that just /roll.. the 2 most common ways are DKP or a loot council.
dkp: death kill points - this is a point system that tracks attendance and boss kills. basically how it works is this..
earning points: you earn points for things such as being on time and ready. for being there for each boss kill, for being there the whole time
spending points: each item has a minimal set amount then those interested in the item bid dkp not to surpass the amount they have till only one person is left bidding or a roll off. this can be done silent or open.
loot council: certain members are choosen for the council typically the officers. every run one of the council members is choosen to be the go to guy. when an item drops all those interested in the item whisper the go to guy and link their curent item of that armor slot. the loot council then talks amongest themselves to see who better benefits the item. things the council considers attendance, preparation, how much of an upgrade an such.
vote on which you'd prefer better and the one that gets the most votes is the one we will use. if you are not familiar with these types of loot system and would like more info on them before you vote feel free to ask me and i'll explain to u in more detail with examples of how they work.
*edit* for those not understanding loot council. a loot council takes in alot more things into consideration than just attendece (such as dkp) or current gear. a loot council looks at not only upgrades but also things like how has the person helped the guild as a whole. before a loot council would go into effect the certain things that the council would consider would be set up and posted.. just an example would be
1) a guild helper (contributing to the gbank, helping other members with hard quests or items to get ect.)
2) raid attendce and prepartion (do they SHOW when they sign up saying they will be there. are they there on time. do they bring the things they need pots/food/regents)
3) upgrade of item
lets say u got 4 people a,b,c and d
person A: refuses to help the guild in any way is never prepared properly for raids.
person B: usually is always willing to help another guildy with a 5-man instance (hero or non) or quests. but is always late and never has the pots and food they need.
person C: helps by depositing a small portion of the money they earn from dailys every week to help with the repair fund. is always waiting AT the instance's meeting stone 5 minutes prior to invites.
person D: helps by sending the extra herbs they collect to the guild bank for pots. is always waiting AT the instance's meeting stone 5 minutes prior to invites.
lets say the maulgar's warhelm drops. all 4 would whisper the designated person their current headpiece. person A would be eliminated through the first condition, person B through the second. person c and d both meet requirements 1&2. person C has the steelspine faceguard and person D has the gladiators chain helm. it is now at a match for upgrade where as person D would win with it being more of an upgrade.
please note this is only an EXAMPLE.. all conditions would be set up after which system is choosen |

I like both methods, and chose DKP because it is more fair to those dedicated, though on the other hand it is very undair to some of our members on tight schedules, and how will we pick up extra's from LFG channel when they can't even get loot with us?
I chose DKP, because it is the most fair to us.
Still, Loot Council is the most fair to all. |

I am not voting on this as I am not a regular raid member of the guild, however I have suggested to Faded and Hav before this vote a Loot council for your guild. I believe it will be the most fair to you seeing how you have alto of mroe causal raiders and do not require attendance. it would prevent things such as bidding for an off set or minor upgrades over large, however it should also favor those who have put the time in to the raids and who have voiced a very big "want" to the loot council as well. I believe your officers are fair enough people that a council would work.
Another thing you will have to consider is what kind of DKP system you will want to use, and how points are earned. I have been a member in guilds that have used zero sum and bid systems. Where people earn points for boss kills and for time attended. Keep in mind the work you are creating for one of your officers when you vote as well. Zero sum and bidding dkp systems where they will have to keep track of this is alot to ask for. |

| yea i prefer loot council in many ways.. for one the people on those tight schedules and those "who come to help" when we need it like luli. for example luli wouldn't go to every single he could but if he's available and we needed a spot filled he would help us out. and these people deserve better credit that dkp can give them. also my experiences with dkp in the past have been horrid.. one guild i was in, there was always one asswhole ( A1) who didn't want their rival to get a certain piece (R1) so even though A1 didn't really need the item he/she would bid up just to keep R1 from getting it which isn't fair at all. i also like loot council alot better because its easier to factor in more things than just attendence and kills. things that would be factored in would be preparation (do u bring your pots/food? are u there on time rdy to go unflagged?) how has this person helped the guild (lets say person a weekly contributes 20g to the g bank and donates herbs for pots where as person b doesn't contribute anything to g bank plus is always bumming pots/food.. sorry person A would deserve it more than person b). |

| My vote is for loot council. And not just because i can't raid reguarlly. I honestly think it is the fairest way to do the loot. NEVER liked DKP systems, because as Hav said, there are asreholes that will bid just to be sure you dont get that item |

| Porchie chooses "Loot Council" being that i have only limited availibilty and DKP would screw me over royally. When I do sign up, I make it a habit of being ready 30-40 mins pre raid time, and always have my own stuff (except for mana bizkits get bizzy mage!) |

I say loot council.
It gives us a way of gearing without leaving people who are undergeared or can't raid often behind.
Plus, my Ally guild uses DKP and I hate it... Lost t4 legs to a pally for off-set. |

| I say LOOT COUNCIL! It is the fairest and even with me not donating gold to the gbank anymore (Epic Flying here i come) I think the others who put more in to the raids other than just showing up should get more credit. I have noticed and hope you all do about all the hard work our upper ranking members (not me I'm a noob) put in to geting the raids going. Anyways thats my 2 cents worth. |
