ok kiss here ya go.
WWS is actually extremely easy to do (cept for maybe remembering to turn on and off ur combatlog)

the site pretty well explains it all in easy to understand but here's a brief run down.
first off u have to set up an account. there are free accounts available. and they are usually for "guild". my account i set up specially for vulgar.
second u need to download java if u don't already have it. this is a free download found at http://www.java.com/en/download/index.jsp
next make sure you don't already have a saved log.
mycomputer/c drive/program files/worldofwarcraft/logs
look for a .xt tittle wowcombatlog.txt .. if there's one delete it.
now get ready to raid. when u step inside instance start recording your combat log. now by default the combatlog only records like 20yrds or so, so it is best to manually reset your log range to 200 yrds. there are mods that will do this for you. atm i haven't been worrying about this headache part as most bosses in kara we really aren't all that spread out so it don't make much difference.
to start recording simply type /combatlog
do ur raid kill some shit then when you're finished stop recording.
simple.. its just /combatlog
now close out the game (yes you must be exited from the game in order to do anything with the log you just recorded)
go to wowwebstats.com click on help then on client
this pulls up the wws client.
first you must click add log.
select your log and hit open.
put in YOUR TOON"S NAME.
if you have multiple logs (log e-mailed or whatever to you from another player) then add those the same way cept on the name you have to put THEIR toon's name and it has to be from the same raid.
next click on the tab that says actors and click auto update.
this will bring up a list of every plaer/pet/mob that was recorded. you have to double check and make sure it is correct it will occassionly put a player as a mob or sum other wierd crap just correct it if it does. also sumtimes when u die or step out to summon or sumthing your log will record shit outside so like if you see "unliving resident" on a kara run.. well those r the things outside kara and don't apply to your raid so click on it and hit remove selected.
once you got that done click back over to logs& reports tab and click host report. it will host up your report on your free account and take you right there. then you can just copy the url and give it to everyone. if you loose the url you can get back to it by going to your account and clicking the "my reports" link in top right corner.
the other button beside "host report" is called "generate report" this is for hosting reports on your OWN site. (no i don't know how to do this lol i just use their site to host and post up the link for it. imo easier that way
now i know there's fancier things you can do like merging and cropping but im just a simple girl and that's still a little confusing to me so i haven't figured it out yet. |
